Learning happens in every project. Preparation and taking on the PMP Examination, being a project by itself, is no different.

Every PMP candidate goes through an individual study path. Documenting and learning the positives and negatives of their approach will be of great value to new aspirants. The approach is similar to the lessons learned register, from previous projects, giving valuable information to an organization for its future projects. This is the idea behind this article.

I would like to congratulate Ms. Sashikala Viswanathan, who successfully cleared the PMP examination recently. Sincere thanks to her for accepting my request to share her experience of the PMP journey.

PMP Exam Prep by Rita Mulcahy and
Powerpoint slides given by the training institute

No

10. Most useful online resource for PMP exam preparation
Not tried

11. How did you prepare for the exam? What would you like to change if you would revisit the exam preparation period?
Ideal time to start preparation is along with the training.
Fix the exam date, so that to create internal target.
Everyday, spend at least 2 hours; with NO EXCUSE.
Understand the concept, DO NOT MEMORIZE. Mistake I did was, tried memorizing and lost focus initially.
Write key points, to refer before exam.
Schedule first slot of the day.
Be confident and tell yourself that YOU WILL ACHIEVE.

Final Word

15. One last piece of advice for candidates preparing for the exam?
Cannot always apply the real time project experience. Need to think the PMBOK way.
